Stop chasing the “natural soap base” fantasy for shampoo bars. You are fighting pH, hard water, and the fundamental chemistry of the hair cuticle. Instead, choose one of two honest paths:

  1. The honest soap bar. Admit it’s not great for hair. Market it as a soap bar for body and face-not shampoo. Include an acidic rinse recommendation. Educate your customers that buildup is inevitable in hard water.
